A very handy new feature of 2.1.0 is that
update.packages(ask=FALSE, checkBuilt=TRUE)
will re-install all your packages with current versions built under 2.1.0.
This works for both Unix-alikes and Windows (and for MacOS in due course).
If you have many packages installed, allow some time (maybe an hour for all the CRAN packages on a P4 2.4GHz Linux box).
