Hi Vivek, I'm sure there must be an elegant way to interface R w ODBC connections, but I find it simplest to create a macro in Access that exports the data (based on a query or table) to a csv file, then use the R function read.csv() in which you can specify header=FALSE if you wish. I've used the importData function in S+, which can import directly from an access database, but the two step process in R is quicker. Excel is pretty limiting if you have lots of data.
