Yes, this was a bug. I believe it's fixed in the latest release
(0.12-1) and if not, it will be fixed in the soon to be released
0.12-2. In either case, you need to specify

pch=c(1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

in auto.key, since you don't want the default pch anyway.
