I don't know what adverse effect this may have in RODBC. To me, it looks like you're either missing the /usr/local/lib/libpcre.so.0 file or that the file is damaged. Can you confirm whether libpcre is installed on your system and for the correct ARCH? Try to reinstall/recompile the pcre package. More info at http://www.pcre.org (appears temporarily down at the moment I write). Then I'd try to recompile RODBC.
