It depends on _how_ you compute your vignette but for pdf vignettes a very simple solution is offered by Mark here: https://www.markvanderloo.eu/yaRb/2019/01/11/add-a-static-pdf-vignette-to-an-r-package/ I have switched a few packages of mine to this scheme. Of course, if you are after html vignettes then this does apply directly, but maybe you could still precompute a fancy gt table, take a screenshot and just include it as an image...
