I use Geany. Many R users prefer Emacs or Eclipse. Unless I'm mistaking, the author of Tinn-R went ahead to develop SciViews-K, an R environment on top of the cross-platform Komodo Edit. Again, try searching the archives for various experiences with text editors supporting R.
