Promote Species Monitoring in R

This course introduces the theory and practice of long-term species monitoring 
protocols, covering methods such as Census, Capture-Mark-Recapture (CMR), 
distance sampling, site occupancy, and N-mixture models. Through lectures and 
hands-on examples in R, participants will learn how to design monitoring 
protocols, select appropriate methods, and analyse data with reproducible 
workflows.
 
 
 
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Define research questions related to species monitoring

Choose and apply suitable analysis methods

Develop effective field protocols

Analyze monitoring data using provided R scripts
Daily schedule:

09:00–12:30 (Berlin time): Live lectures + guided practicals

Afternoon: Self-paced practicals with annotated R scripts
