Dear all,
We’re excited to announce our new online course: Species Distribution Modeling
with Bayesian Additive Regression Tree (BART) Methods

Dates: 22–24 September 2025 - Live sessions: 15:00–18:00 (Berlin time) + guided
self-practice

This course introduces the use of BART models for species distribution modeling
(SDM), highlighting their advantages over traditional machine learning
approaches. Through a combination of lectures and hands-on exercises in R,
participants will:

Learn how BARTs work and why they excel in SDM

Use the embarcadero and dbarts packages for model training, evaluation, and
projection

Explore predictor effects and project species presence across time or regions
