Dear Red Hat Support,
I am currently working with a system running RHEL 7.6 and would like to install
the latest stable version of R 4 that is officially supported on this platform.
Based on my research through CRAN, EPEL, and other repositories, it appears
that R 4.3.1 is the last version available as RPMs for RHEL 7.
Unfortunately, migrating to RHEL 8 or 9 is not an option in our current
environment. I am therefore looking for a way to install R 4.3.1 using RPM
packages compatible with RHEL 7.6.
Could you please confirm:
• Whether R 4.3.1 is indeed the final version of R 4 supported on RHEL 7.6?• If
there is an official channel or recommended procedure to obtain and install
these RPMs?• Whether any alternatives exist within Red Hat support to maintain
an up-to-date R environment without upgrading the operating system?
Thank you in advance for your assistance and guidance.
