Dear R Sig Geo Poeple,
I'm curently using the Kinhom function (package spatstat) studying the
spatial structure of wolf depredations in France. I got a problem using one
of the Kinhom factor (the "edge correction") and I would be glad if someone
could give me some advices.
My point pattern is very clumped (~600 points) and the shape of the window
is a polygon shape (Union of two rectangle). I have noticed very different
observed pattern of the Kinhom curve versus simulation enveloppe, depending
on the edge correction utilized (between the "border" and "modified
border"), which involve very different ecological conclusions and
management implications (e.g. different scale of clustering which imply
different ecological conclusions about the process mechanism).
Are there any justifications about choosing between the "border" and
"modified border" corrections ? and what does it imply ?
Thank you very much for advices
kind regards
