Dear all,

I am currently working on a paper that analyzes spatial correlation in
consumption behavior. For example, I'm looking into the degree of spatial
correlation in consumer spending for certain product categories (e.g.,
cosmetics, fast food, vacation, ...) and/ or in certain distribution
channels (e.g., malls, mail order retailer, ...).

For my literature review, I'd like to give an overview of previous research
in the field. Within my domain (marketing) there does not seem to be much
work around this question. But I assume that this might be different in
other fields.

Does anyone know of any published work, unpublished working papers,
conference presentation or similar that has looked at spatial correlation
(on any level - country, county, zip-code, ...) in any measure of consumer
behavior (e.g., spending, number of products purchases, number of times
products are purchased). Anything, even if only remotely related to this is
likely to be relevant.

Thanks very much in advance,

Michael
