I've released new versions of iWidgetsRGtk and pmg that work with the
recently released version of RGtk2 (RGtk2_2.8.4). See
http://www.math.csi.cuny.edu/pmg for information.

The pmg package is a GUI for R in the spirit of RCmdr, only using the GTK
toolkit instead of TCL.

The iWidgetsRGtk package is an implementation for GTK2 of the iwidgets API
of Simon Urbanek. This API abstracts out the underlying toolkit. In theory
pmg could run under other toolkits, but in practice this would require
someone to port the iwidgets extensions to that toolkit. More importantly,
iWidgetsRGtk provides a relatively simple framework for working with
Michael Lawrence's RGtk2 package to use the GTK toolkit within R. The
iWidgetsRGtk vignette offers some examples of possible usages.

This release includes many changes and improvements. Additionally, to make
it easier to check out, there are now windows binaries, and the files may be
installed using install.packages().

This package should be considered alpha software, although it seems to
mostly work. I'd appreciate any comments ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).
