Just to let the GUI guys know, I've managed to get cairoDevice on CRAN. The new version (1.2) fixes many bugs and adds support for getGraphicsEvent() so you can make more interactive graphics.
For those not familiar with cairoDevice, it is an antialiased R graphics device based on the cairo graphics library. It is embeddable into RGtk2-based GUIs.
