Deducer 0.3-1 has just been released to CRAN and should be propagating
through the mirrors shortly. This version contains a number of
improvements and additions, including:

a) The Data viewer has been improved. It now operates much faster on
moderately large datasets. Several drawing bugs have been fixed.

b) Additional facilities for plug-in development have been added. Fairly
complex dialogs can be constructed easily with pure R code

c) A variable transformation dialog has been added, with options for
centering, standardizing, robust standardizing, log, reciprocal, rank,
box-cox, powers, quantile binning, equal width binning, arcsine, and
custom expressions. Before and after histograms can be displayed.

As always, stand alone installers and program documentation are available
at http://www.deducer.org/manual.html and an active discussion group can
be found at http://groups.google.com/group/deducer .

Developer documentation is available at
http://www.deducer.org/pmwiki/index.php?n=Main.Development . Information
regarding plug-in development, both in Java and pure R is available there.
An example plug-in is also on CRAN (see: DeducerPlugInExample). If you
would like to build a plug-in, or help work on Deducer its self, feel free
to contact me.

On a related note, through a google summer of code grant, this summer I
will be adding a GUI for the ggplot2 package to Deducer.

Cheers,
Ian Fellows
