Thanks for testing this issue in your machine and providing me with helpful
tips.
Despite the fact I've updated X11 to the most recent one following a
suggestion, I still get it to "hang".
So perhaps this issue is specific to my Macbook air (which has 4G memory
and 1.7 GHz processor).
