Noah,

this looks like you may be using R for older Intel machines on a M1 Mac Book 
(via emulation). Please double-check that you installed the R version 
appropriate to your machine - your sessionInfo() shoud show:

Platform: aarch64-apple-darwin20 (64-bit)

If not, install the correct R version.
