Hi Ken, If you select the 2nd entry (Cleanup history entries) in your startup preferences this should go away.
Some folks also mentioned that the load/save history buttons on the history sheet in R GUI for Mac OS X did not work. The latest nightly build of just the R GUI ( http://research.att.com/~urbanek/R/ ) should fix that.
