Thanks to Matt & John for the solution to the .pdf problem. Here is
another problem.
I am unable to get edit() to work. When I have it set the R application
editor, then a command like
> myfunction <- edit(myfunction)
Does not invoke the editor for me. Nothing happens, no editing, no error
message. When I use the preferences menu to set the default editor to
TextEdit, then TextEdit appears with a copy of myfunction. However,
changes saved in TextEdit do not overwrite the copy of TextEdit in the
workspace. I first noticed this problem after the first time I tried to
use TextEdit -- as if switching the preference to TextEdit broke the
default edit(). (Did edit() ever work for me with the new version of R?
Don't know -- I stupidly played with this option about the same time as
I upgraded.)
I have reinstalled R, and that didn't fix the problem.
Thoughts here?
