Hi,
Just lately, I'm getting an odd behavior from the
install packages menu item. When trying to upgrade a package,
all seems to go well, except that it doesn't indicate that the
package has been upgraded in the Installed Version column,
and then when I try to load the package, it gives me, for example when
trying to upgrade the XML package to version 1.7-3,
library(XML)
Warning message:
unable to move temporary installation '~/Library/R/2.5/library/
file9e04f3f/XML' to '~/Library/R/2.5/library/XML'
When I look in ~/Library/R/2.5/library, I find
a directory, file591f56cd that contains the XML,
in this case, directory with the package contents
within. Usually (I don't know if this is normal),
I find such a directory but it is empty as if a mv
had been applied (if this is all I have to do to
finish the installation, OK, but it was nice when
it was automated).
I didn't have this problem when installing the
packages de nouveau with the upgrade to R 2.5.
The problem persists after upgrading to today's
patched R and R.app.
