Nancy:
I have had great success with Textmate ( http://macromates.com/), which runs
R from within an editor using scripts. This way you just load/edit your R
files (outside R-GUI, never have to open it again) and print directly to PDF
files which Textmates opens automatically in Preview. All PDF windows will
be arranged in overlapping fashion and the pdf files are stored in
/tmp/TM-R/ folder were you can access them for post-processing.
Unfortunately Textmate does not come for free. I use the editor for many
other tasks, which makes the investment of 39euros a bargain. (BTW, I have
no financial interest in the product)
