Yes, and there was this "portable" terminal called the Execuport back in 
the 70s (it weighed about 30 pounds), two of whose features were thermal 
paper that usually self-erased when you left it on a windowsill and a 
key that translated the underscore character to a left-facing arrow.  
Rick Becker and I each had one of those terminals, so naturally ...
