is there a command for exporting the current plot as a pdf-file?
I tried dev.copy(pdf) but it generated a pdf-file I couldn't open ("broken"). 

Try

 quartz.save("my.pdf", type="pdf");





I get a syntax error ...

(Release Version 1.23)
