This is just a reminder about Tuesday's R-SPEC meeting. We had originally planned for the meeting to be mostly social. However, a couple of weeks back I let Craig and Alicia talk me into leading a discussion about new models for publishing fiction. I'm calling it "in the internet era", which should allow us to encompass anything we're likely to imagine. (Especially since we now have top-level domains for all the major bodies in the solar system...)
I'll try to provide a baseline for us to jump off from, but what will be really useful is for anyone in the group who has ideas about how publishing could work, ought to work, or will work to bring those along so we can discuss them. Alas, the person we can principally blame this on (that would be Our Fearless Assistant Leader, Craig DeLancey) will be off at his PLAYWRITING class instead of discussing cool stuff with us ;-), so let's all make sure he knows he missed something good! Hope to see you there -- please forward this event to anyone you know who's interested in where fiction publishing is headed, whether or not they're interested in speculative fiction. We will do greetings, business and housekeeping starting promptly at 7, and begin the topic discussion by 7:30 so we can clear the room by 9 as our hosts request. -- eric scoles ([email protected]) --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "R-SPEC: The Rochester Speculative Literature Association" group.
