Too funny not to share! Sent to you by Jonathan via Google Reader: Homework Assignments From Our Transhumanist Future [Concept Art] via io9 by Lauren Davis on 9/14/09
Shane Hope's cheekily named exhibition "Your Mom is Open Source" includes homework assignments from a distant future where augmented children write about the joys of post-personhood, immortality, and uplifting pet fungi. The "Your Mom is Open Source" exhibition has envisioned our Grey Goo apocalypse, and also includes the "Compile-A-Child" series, which imagines the sorts of homework assignments produced by children raised in online virtual worlds. The notion that children will still be handwriting on paper aside, Hope is looking to create a visual arts answer to hard science fiction, complete with his own ideas about the future of language and technology.
