Think of is as a way to record and edit a conversation so that you wind up
with a document that can be a log of what everyone said in the conversation,
or a document that is what we think of when we think of a regular document.

Maybe think of it as - When used informally, it's a documented conversation.
When used formally, it's shared document creation.
