Hello R-SPEC,
We had our annual meeting of the membership last night and elected a new Board of Directors.
On the 2010 board we have:
Jonathan Sherwood
Craig DeLancey
Eric Scoles
Thomas Whittemore
Ruhan Zhao
Alicia Henn
Wayne Brown
David Henn
Alysse Kulikowski

The board will meet next week to elect officers from their ranks.
I will not seek the Office of President.

We discussed some of the things that the board will work on this year including:
- the promotion of our first anthology
- the launch of a new anthology project
- the definition of the scope of our new press as well as a clearer structure for its governance - the expansion of our membership and a rejuvenation of our monthly meetings - other projects that can raise the awareness of the group and further our mission to promote Spec Fic and local Spec Fic writers

Wayne led a spirited discussion of RFF's bid to draw the World Fantasy Convention here in 2012.
As a group, we were quite excited by the prospect.

The antho is already selling. We've sold about 125 copies out of the 400 we had printed.

The Brighton library is eager to host an event for us, as is Liftbridge bookstore. WaB is willing to sell some books, and we have the paperwork we need to get the book into Barnes and Noble. Once the Marketing Committee reconvenes, we'll start scheduling events.

We also talked about hosting a parallel film festival alongside what used to be called the High Falls Festival.

There is quite a bit of consensus on the next antho having an Alternate Rochester theme, but Craig suggested that maybe we could do a GreenPunk one after that.

It was a terrific meeting with a lot of new energy and great ideas.

Alicia
