I suppose that's a matter of opinion. I dropped 'Edgar' a note yesterday to let him know that repeat solicitations like this could certainly look that way.
I'm inclined to cut people some slack on things like this -- he's obviously been working hard on that project, and when I look at his posting history he's clearly doing his self-promotion manually and in subject-matter-appropriate places (like here and some computer animation groups). And we all know how hard it can be to make sure people know about what you're doing. But as I changed the introduction message to the group to say, once you've told us once, you've told us.
