Hi - Good a pre-race discussion. I love pre-race discussions - this generally means that later in the day you realise what a fool you're made of yourself.
I note the plus' and minus' for St Reims, but I know horses don't win forever. He's up in the weights and there are many horses on far lesser weights that could beat him. Over the last 5 years the avaerage weight carried by the 1st 3 home is 54 kg. Blue Bird The Word carried 57.5. Also worth noting is the fact that no 4Y0s have filled the first 3 placings over the same 5 years. Interestingly Regal Krona meets St Reims better off by 2 kg. I've decided not to have a bet in the cup - my team contains both St Reims & Waitoki Dream - I think the odds are against either winning!!!
