Alrighty - theoretically!!

Here it is straight from Don Scott:

Horses run in X,Y,then Z

Tri: (x-1)*((x-1)*(y-1)-1)*z/x

eg X is $4, Y is $5, Z is $10

then 3*(3*4-1)*10/4 = 3*11*2.5 = $82.50

Quinellas:

100/((x-1)*y) + 100/((y-1)*x) = %chance

eg X is $4, Y is $8

100/24 + 100/28 = 7.74 ie 7.74% chance

hence 100/7.74 = $12.92

Good luck - use a spreadsheet!
