As I get older I find I am tending to skim thru emails and you made your
email long enuff to cause me to start skimming Gil .... But I have to say
here that if there is such a thing as luck I don't believe it has much of an
effect on someone like Tiger Woods. I read an article once where he had been
dissatisfied with his drives off the tee in a certain game and after the
18th he went straight back out to the practice tee and did a thousand
drives. That sort of attitude does'nt suggest luck to me ... That signifies
to me a huge amount of hard work and although I would only class myself as
about half way successful I would put none of it down to luck .... The
opposite in fact as I was coming up thru the sharemilking chain and on thru
to farm ownership and on into retirement. And of all the people I know who
were only half way like me and some of the ones who are all the way I can't
think of one of them who didn't work their butts off to get what they have.
And more significantly the wife part of the partnerships worked just as hard
and were just as focused. As for lucky punters I don't believe that either
... What looks lucky is putting in the hard yards researching etc and what
appears to be bad luck ... Is not putting in the hard yards . Geeeez
.... I was sure focussed had two esses at the right hand end ..... Muz
