will miss your humour Gil..oh well the east side I presume
has the prevailing wind direction to sail your "snapper
catcher".
A few seasons ago I went out on a deep sea charter in search
of the big uns and after 3 days of either shrivelling in the
sun or pounding my arse on the decks, I finally cracked.
I asked the captain if ther would be any chance of doing
some real fishing - snapper for instance? He of course was
shocked but as we had not hooked any big uns he agreed to
spend the last afternoon/night hooked up just outside
Russell(he did have limited tackle for this peasant
pastime). It turned out to be the most amazing 3/4 hours of
snapper fishing ,with photographic proof of my record 28lb
snapper(donated to the sword club for dinner).
Although this sounds a bit fishy .....on the way back to the
snapper fishing I hooked up a black marlin which I chose to
tag and release.
Well Gil ,this probably means that you do not have to go
over to the west to catch the big uns and I would like to
advise you that my punting stories are nowhere as successful
as my fishing!!!!
hear from you in the spring...Garry
