If you want a more forum-like interface, you can use
the gmane mirror. There are some other alternatives that are listed
on the community page: http://racket-lang.org/community.html

I suspect that this wealth of Web sites and alternatives is the source of confusion. :)

BTW, if someone wants to post on the Racket list sometimes, but for some reason doesn't want to be getting list email traffic, a few things to know...

* You should be subscribed to the email list if you want to post.

* Being subscribed doesn't mean that you have to actually receive email from the list, since you can go to "http://lists.racket-lang.org/users"; and turn off email delivery but still be subscribed.

* Regardless of how you normally read the Racket email list, when you want to respond to a discussion thread on the email list, you might find it convenient to be able to go to an email folder (whether it's a program you run, or a Web email site). So receiving the email list as email *somewhere*, even if it's a special email folder you don't normally look at, or a separate email account, can be helpful.

(I actually have two email accounts subscribed to the Racket lists: (1) my main email account, with list delivery disabled, which I use to post to the list, and (2) my lists email account, which actually gets delivery of list email. This two-account setup keeps incoming list email from interrupting me when I'm on the clock for client work, and when I am receiving email on my smartphone. If I had smarter email hosting, which could sort email on the server, I'd only need one account. But this is one of the things you set up once, and it just keeps working fine forever.)
