For the record: I am cofounder of a biotech startup, and we're writing the software in Racket. I hadn't actually thought to mention it here, but this seems like a good opportunity: we haven't launched yet, but we're looking to line up beta testers. The first piece we'll be releasing is a peer-to-peer filesharing system designed to handle unlimited-size datasets like gene expression profiles (on the order of 10TB with BAM files of 50-200GB). In addition to moving large amounts of data it will also provide accelerated download and backups by way of BitTorrent-esque swarming.
Would anyone be interested in beta testing? It'll be a few weeks before we have a release, but it would be great to have some volunteers lined up.
