FYI I ended up going to 8.0 BC 32 bits to get the smallest executables for production, while still evaluating current. I partially fixed my scrolling problem by replacing (* wheel-scale amt) by (/ (* wheel-scale amt) 2) in share/pkgs/gui-lib/mred/private/wx/win32/window.rkt.
There still is a small delay in the direction change while scrolling, but it isn't nearly as objectionnable as it was with * amt.
