I use VPSLink and Ubuntu. I followed the instructions here: http:// richarddcrowley.org/blog/view/101 to get RoR up and running and then got Radiant Mental out of the SVN repository. As far as VPSLink service... they have had one outage, but have been fine since then. I have 2 machines with them. I recommend them because they have a Wiki and Forum which seem to both be actively frequented by the VPSLink staff and users. The other thing that is nice is you can use their DNS servers to point to other websites / machines!
