My experiences with rubyworks was 90% positive. It's a very reliable and
easy to install enviroment.

some minor issues:
- not everything is available for all distributions, especially I couldn't
get rmagick running on debian 64bit (should be fixed soon)
- monit supports sending email when server are being restarted (because
they don't respond anymore). But the (stable) version used in rubyworks
doesn't support smtp authentification.
- for a high load enviroment there should be an additional webserver which
delivers the static content. This is missing in rubyworks right now (but
one developer told me that they plan this for the next major release)

The pro and cons of haproxy for load balancing are discussed here:
http://rubyworks.rubyforge.org/manual/haproxy.html

But even with these minor issues, rubyworks is still an pleasure to work
with. Everything works out of the box and is preconfigured in a good way.

best regards,
J.F.

p.s. I'm looking for new rails projects (bay area or remote) - please
