Hello,

I just wrote an article about Desert, which is very similar to
Radient's Extension system.
http://pivots.pivotallabs.com/users/brian/blog/articles/459-build-your-own-rails-plugin-platform-with-desert
http://github.com/pivotal/desert

One major difference is its meant to work with all Rails plugins. Its
also backward compatible to Rails 1.2.5.
It supports:
* plugin dependencies in plugin definition
* Rails-like file structure in plugins
* Patching the Dependencies loader to override parent plugin objects
* Plugin Routes
* Plugin Migrations

One of Pivotal's projects is using Radient. Since Pivotal offers the
Socialitis platform, they ended up not using Radient's extension
mechanism in favor of Desert, and they reported that it worked very
well.

Thanks,
Brian
