You could use some RBAC extensions too.
I actually wrote these to phase out page-group-permissions

And to make use of the draft/reviewed/published status of pages, you could use

If you are already using page-group-permissions, I have a migrator for it:

But the most up-to-date page-group-permissions is my fork
http://github.com/saturnflyer/radiant-page-group-permissions-extension

I'm not sure if all of these are up to date for 0.8.1, but it's likely
that if not, the only change would be the require_dependency in the
extension file.
