Hello all,

We've been using Radiant for our web site for a couple of years with
great success. It's easily the cleanest CMS solution of several that I
tried.

We have an existing documentation section for our product that is built
with Radiant; http://www.lightcrafttech.com/previzion/users-manual/.
We're happy with the dual column formatting. It's all done in Markdown
for the text, with CSS for layouts.

We'd like to be able to do an automatic PDF conversion of the whole
documentation tree that preserves some of the existing page layout.
Exactly how much is flexible, but the dual column formatting would be
nice to keep, as we worked hard to get it to display correctly on the
web. We don't need the header/footer or side panel graphics, just the
main text and image documentation with the dual column formatting
preserved, with correct page breaks, etc.

I checked into the Radiant extension for Maruku, but the author
indicated that it probably would not do what we are looking for. In
searching through the Radiant list archives, I found some discussion
about automatically generating a PDF 'book' from Radiant documentation
in the 'Summer Reboot Documentation' thread in July 2008, which is
exactly what I'm looking for, but I don't think it's been implemented.

I'm happy to pay someone a few hundred $ to write this, and release it
open source. It seems like an extension that would be useful for many
people, and it's worth doing it well enough to be re-used. Feel free to
contact me off-list if you are interested; eliot (at) lightcrafttech.com.

Thanks,

Eliot
