I do have the Radiant 0.9.0 gem installed, and everything looks like 0.9.0, but maybe there is something corrupted? I did try updating to edge before, several times over a few days, and ran into an error message about "undefined method `tab' " (don't have the exact message anymore). Tried again tonight and updating to edge worked without error. Installed Page Factory and it works like a charm. Settings extension also working. No idea what changed. Maybe some updates on the "bleeding edge"? Anyway, looks great so far. Time to start over and see if the rest of the extensions I want will now install correctly. Thanks again for the help.
