The ping seems wise; so I'll probably leave it on; but is there a way I can exclude the messages when I enable trace?

Trace is on (obviously); but the DUO section in the config was only used for testing. Nothing (that I'm aware of) is actually making any queries to that AuthBy.

That's API alive check that is now on by default. You can control it with configuration parameter CheckTimerInterval which defaults to 5. In other words, server is pinged every five seconds.

If you set this parameter to 0, the check is disabled.

This was added at the same time when the PreAuth parameter was added. You may have noticed that PreAuth is now possible and enabled by default:

CheckTimerInterval seems not to be documented for some reason, but I'll see that this gets fixed for the next release.

Thanks,
Heikki
