Good point, thanks....

To be honest for the Calling-Station-ID I normally put the whole number
in or|more, but a bit extra will certainly help.

For the Called-Station-ID I look at the presented numbers from my
Tigris and its normally only in groups of ten. We are spoiling our
support people here....

Each dial in partition gets a range of ten numbers with the last number
being what modem modulation for that number..

9 v34+K56+v90 unlimited speed
8 v34+v90 max speed 48000
7 v34+v90 max speed 44000
6 v34+v90 max speed 40000
5 v34+v90 max speed 36000
4 v34+k56 max speed 48000
3 v34+k56 max speed 44000
2 v34+k56 max speed 40000
1 v34+k56 max speed 36000
0 v34+v34 max speed 33600

Sure its a bit of extra setup, but certainly solves the problem of of
trying to to explain to lusers over the phone how to trim their modems
back using extra dial settings, just tell them to try the different
number sequence :-)

Out of interest, I know the Tigris can, the Ascend's cannot, what about
others ??
