I upgraded (a new machine) to SQL 7.0 where I am running platypus. I
installed the hotfix from Microsoft's side, and the isql program is working
great as well as php3 scripts, so I know the connectivity is good. However,
my AuthBy Platypus routine locks up when it does the select to check to see
if the user is valid. The strange thing is that with numerous testing, I
found that sometimes it will validate 1 login before it freezes. If I
change my data source back to the 6.5 server it works great. I also tryed
scrapping the AuthBy Platypus, and replacing it with an AuthBy SQL, since
the SQL radiator stuff seems to get updated much more frequently than Plat,
but same result.. heres the auth portion of my config and a trace level 5.

btw, for those that are like me and had a terrible time locating the hotfix
for mssql 7.0 ctlibs, heres how to get it. call microsoft IT support at
800-936-4900. Its a paid support line, but there is NO CHARGE for a hot
fix. just be sure to reference this Q# from Microsoft's support database.
They'll open you a ticket, and a tech will email you the files. The Q# is
Q239883. btw, the error you get is Unexpected EOF, and this hot fix fixes
it.

anyway, here are the config and trace:

<AuthBy SQL>
    DBSource dbi:Sybase:PLATSERV
    DBUsername platuser
    DBAuth mypassword
    AuthSelect select password, active from customer where username='%n' and
active='Y'
</AuthBy>

and heres the level 5 trace...

and it just hangs there til you kill the process, and of course sends no
reply to the client.

please let me know something asap... if i have to go back to 6.5 i need to
do it before much of today has passed or else ill have to reenter a days
worth of payments, signups, and deacts.. i have it doing an authby file
temporarily until this can be resolved.

thanks
