I'm sure everyone has their favorite. I like the 3Com/USR TotalControl Hubs
myself. Very good port density for a 6RU box. Up to 13 PRIs I beleive.
Only problem i have is that USR's technical support wasn't very good. Maybe
3com fixed some of that? (i doubt it). If you don't get a support contract
with them, it is almost impossible to RMA anything (even a fan that has
stopped spinning). They require you to talk to a tech to confirm that
indeed your fan has stopped :).
Anyway... they perform extremely well, and provide very high connection
speeds over a large amount of the phone lines. Last time I had an
experience with the Ascend MAX line, i found their equipment very unstable.
But that was a long time ago.
