Hello Everyone -

What a lovely day I have had!

Walked up and down the Champs Elysses, through the Place de la
Concorde, all the way along the Tuilleries to the Louvre, and then
over the Seine to the Musee d'Orsay. It is just the same as when I
lived here so many years ago.

I spent the morning calling all of my old friends on the telephone
and practicing my French which has come flowing back remarkably well!

To those of you who have never been here, I can only tell you that I
fell in love with the place the first time I came here (in 1968!!),
and I have been in love with it ever since. (NB. one word of warning
- there are those who love London, and there are those who love Paris
- it is very unusual to find someone who loves both - no prizes for
guessing which I am...).

I should be returning home tomorrow (leaving here tomorrow night and
spending about 24 hours in various airplanes) - Paris, Rome, Bangkok,
Melbourne, so you won't hear from me for a couple of days while I
recuperate.

cheers

Hugh
