Hi Hugh,

I did not do a full install with 2.17.1.  I'm still testing this version
in the distribution directory.  What I did to resolve this problem was
to rearrange the order of SessionDatabase so that SessionDatabase DBM
was at the end (the default).

<SessionDatabase SQL>
        Identifier DSL-SessionCheck
        DBSource ...
        DBUsername ...
        DBAuth ...

</SessionDatabase>

<SessionDatabase DBM>
        Identifier Dialup-SessionCheck
        Filename %D/online
</SessionDatabase>

I'm still not sure why SessionDatabase NULL does not work though.
