I was asking this question just yesterday. I haven't tried 
it yet, but from man DBD::mysql (or perldoc DBD::mysql), 
I'd say it's
  DBSource dbi:mysql:database;hostname;port
Note semi-colon ";" not colon ":" to separate db, host, and port.
