Hi Ernie,

After an hour-long wait in a treatment room, he lost patience and proceeded

That's a sad question Ernie. Maybe you need better insurance? Maybe it's
different with kids, but whenever there's blood we're rushed right
through...

Joking aside, the stories I hear aren't too encouraging. Of course, it's
hearsay but my nephew ended up having to wait 8 weeks for an x-ray and
another long wait after that for an MRI type scan on his knee about a year
ago. It would have been done within a day or two around here. Whenever I
tell my family about how my kids are treated and local hospitals in our town
they get awfully quiet.

My take is that the benefits of the "Swedish model" and the horror's of the
US system are greatly exaggerated in both the Swedish and the US media (not
that there are frequent reports on Swedish health care but whenever there,
it is all cheers). When the Gov't has the monopoly on health care something
does happen to service. Trust me on that one. Just like in England there are
attempts to privatize aspects of primary care and the private providers
received a higher rating (news paper report from last wee - sorry, can't
find it now).

Other parts of the US, like rural areas, or big cities but not be comparable
to my city though. Is Obama Care the best you guys can do?
