Straits Times / Singapore Oct 22, 2010 China to send probe to Mars
THE China Academy of Space Technology on Thursday put forward a plan at the Third China Space Technology Forum in Beijing to send a probe to Mars. The earliest that China will be able to launch a probe to Mars is November in 2013, as one to two years of exploration will need to be carried out, said forum participant Huang Jiangchuan, also the chief designer of the Chang'e-2 lunar satellite. It is inevitable that China will pursue space exploration on Mars in order to close the space technology gap between China and other countries, said Mr Huang. -- THE CHINA DAILY -- Centroids: The Center of the Radical Centrist Community <[email protected]> Google Group: http://groups.google.com/group/RadicalCentrism Radical Centrism website and blog: http://RadicalCentrism.org
