About the article: The Israeli opposition "leader" doesn't realize that the world REALLY IS against them, whether they say so sitting in a corner or not. The world hasn't given them anything to say "yes" to, except terrorism. Or perhaps extinction. Makes me wonder what her vision is.

Now, a radical centrist future? It needs to include most nations not in the Muslim orbit who are not willing to cave to the Muslim threats of violence by the Religion of Perpetual Outrage. That would be a good start.

This article came to my attention yesterday. The point it makes for Israel,
it seems obvious, can be applied to other nations as well as political causes.

The question is : What is "the" Radical Centrist vision for the future ?
Any ideas ?  This is worth thinking about. At the moment all that I have
are some rough concepts. Maybe others have their own rough ideas they
would like to flesh out.

Suggestion for today

Livni: Israel needs to promote a vision

Opposition leader says, "to sit in the corner and say that the world is against us is not a solution"; "can't always say no to the world."

Opposition Head Tzipi Livni alleged that there is no leadership in Israel today, at the Annual Farmers Association conference on Friday. She said, "there is no leadership that speaks of values and looks at things with values in mind."

Livni criticized what she called a "government that tries to please everybody all the time." Saying that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu should be more decisive and thoughtful of how he chooses his coalition partners, she remarked that Israel's main interest is "to reach reach an agreement that preserves the state as the national home of the Jewish people." She asserted that every passing moment harms those interests.

Responding to the American request for a two-month extension of the West Bank building freeze, Livni said, "Why not? In order to keep a few people in the coalition?" She continued, "Does that compare to the strategic relationship with the United States?"

"Israel needs to stop being a country that defines itself according to the threats that surround it," the opposition leader said, "It needs to promote a vision."

Speaking about the need to rally international support, Livni said that "we are not going to enlist the world's support by saying no all of the time. We need to also say yes." She went on, "We need the world's support, and we've proved that."

"To sit in the corner and say that the world is against us is not a solution," Livni declared. "We need the world with us for military action, for the legitimacy to take military action, a central part of Israel's security which is is weakened today."

Addressing a recent situation in Safed where an 89-year-old man was threatened and harassed this past week for renting an apartment to Beduin students who study in the city, Livni said, "If everyone is talking about a country that has equality, then we all need to rise up against the situation where an elderly man has his life threatened for renting an article to Arabs."
